I am a photographer and artist holding an Associate's Degree in Commercial Art from Chabot College in Hayward, California and a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from Mill College in Oakland, California. I am the founder and CEO of Rosehaven Cottage Inc. and the author/designer of the suite of Rosehaven Cottage blogs: Rosehaven Cottage, Rosehaven Cottage's Kitchen, and Rosehaven Cottage's Creative Studio. I am also the author and creator of the fun retro Dusting in Pearls blog that celebrates the Hepburn-esque styles of the 1950's and 1960's; the design aesthetic of the technicolor sets of Doris Day films; the charm and whimsy of the retro kitchen; and the little bit of domestic diva in us all. My photographic focus is primarily pure and un-enhanced timeless images of Americana and botanicals. I prefer to use available light and capture moments of what I call "photographic serendipity". I prefer to perform as little digital post-production enhancement as possible. My diverse fine art and graphic portfolio is comprised of watercolor and acrylic painting, illustration, graphic design, and digital arts. I often build pieces utilizing all the above media. My dimensional shadowbox is inspired by my interest in printing and paper arts. Much of my work is inspired by the American images of print and film from the mid-20th century that were often presented in technicolor or other color-enhanced ways. My graphic designs have many applications and are currently available on exclusive design Keds footwear, stationery, greeting cards, home decor and much more. Licensing for my graphic designs is available. Please contact me at rosehaven_cottage@yahoo.com for more information. |
