This blue sky will have to do...

Used my Worn blue cover texture available along with my other free textures.
I also used a dirty plaster texture but can't remember the source.

With the rain we've been having this week, I haven't had the privilege of seeing a blue sky that much. So I went into my photos (taken only a couple of weeks ago) and found some blue sky. My "Tahitian Sunset" rose had decided to bloom in the unusual January warm weather. It looked so cool against the blue sky that I had to turn it into a "painting". It's always good to stop and enjoy a blue sky, so the creative process afforded me that opportunity to really drink it in.

Another spot of "blue sky" is when someone thinks of me and honors me with a blogging award. I've been really behind in acknowledging the awards I've received as of late. I know that I'm not remembering at least one, and I sincerely apologize if I missed yours.

I received this pretty award from Carolynn at Glowing Ember. The hearts are an instant fave of mine (I love Valentine's Day). The award is to be passed on to eight recipients and should be awarded to blogs "...[that] are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award." Since I can't possible single out only eight of my favorite blogs, I am passing this award along to every dear blogging friend because you all fit this description to me.

Then I received this absolutely adorable pink and green award from Debbi at Aunt Debbi's Garden. I'm supposed to list six things that make me happy... Hubby, kitties, gardening, church service, Chinese chicken salad, and sunshine. There are so many other things that I could list that make me happy.

I'm curious... what things make you the happiest and why?
Pin It!

  1. The Professor and I have a saying that the three great goods in life are a hot shower, a comfortable bed and a cup of morning coffee! I also love beautiful yarn and fiber, a good book, sunshine and a nice long ramble in the mountains or at the beach. OH and my family!

  2. Ooh ohh! Pick me!
    1) Weekends off
    2) Summers off
    3) Done by 3:15 every day
    4) Cookie day (1 cookie for a full day of good behavior)
    5) Movie day...when I can no longer be expected to teach them anything

    Just kidding! Here are the real 5things:
    1) When little kids learn my name and use it so fondly (I am known as Ya-ya by one of my favorite little boys)
    2) Spring! The smells and warmth of growing things
    3) A clean house (notice I did not mention the cleaning as one of my favorite things...just the cleanness)
    4) Crazy/soulful friends who keep you laughing/from falling apart
    5) Good movies/entertainment

  3. I love your blue skies... mine are foggy today! But I love them.

  4. Everything else being equal, the sun shining makes a huge difference. When it isn't, it's hard for me, even though I enjoy the rain and am hoping for more before the season's done. There are other things but they are all way more complicated.

  5. Cindy, you are so talented and you INSPIRE me so much! I am glad I can blog stalk you, because whenever I do, I am amazed at all you are!! I love you and miss you so much!

  6. Great work!
    Hmm thinking cap on: morning coffee made by hubby, colour and colour combinations, having new ideas to try out, being able to hug my children when they aren't well and know they wont feel soppy. :-)

  7. When I first started blogging, my second post was a list of 100 Things I am Grateful For and That Make Me Happy. It was a fun exercise and they all still apply today. With today being my 290th post, the only thing I would add is the friendships that I've made through blogging.

    Here's the post, if you feel so inclined to check it out:

    Beautiful photo, as always!

  8. Hi Cindy,

    that's easy...1) me, Mum and Bethany in the same room with the animals,
    2) animals and birds
    3)everything natural e.g. plants, water, birds' song etc.
    4)hot sunny days in summer, all the different colours in autumn, snow in winter and rain, lambs, daffodils and chicks in spring.
    5)friends I can trust

    That is what makes me the happiest. Although I would sneak one more in...6)warmth! LOL

    Hope everyone is well, hugs from Meg and cats xxx

    P.S. Love the photo!

  9. A charming blue sky ~ love it, Cindy! Happiness: husband, 3 chilren, 2 grandchildren to start ...

  10. We have been having wonderful, drizzly skies! It is great because we have them so seldom.
    1. I love smells - the perfumes of the seasons (fallen leaves, snow, rain, flowers, forests)
    2. I love the ocean . . . and mountain tops. The wind gives the same sense of peace both places.
    3. I love family stories
    4. I love it when a job I do unexpectedly bestows a sense of peace in my heart.
    5. I love FHE - the gathering of friends and family - so GREAT!
    6. I love the hidden treasures of the scriptures that make Heavenly Father and his Son real.
    7. My Joanie & My Sarie are especially delightful!! I love the way they look at life.
    Thanks for Asking, Cindy!!!

  11. Here's my wee list. I'm happy right now:
    1. That Kitty is curled on my computer chair behind me;
    2. Because I just found a copy of "Barefoot in Paris"(Barefoot Contessa)on sale;
    3. To read these lists of what makes other people happy;
    4. That Daddy God loves us so much;
    5. That it's time for slumber;
    6. That I have such wonderful blogging friends to visit!
