What We Got for Christmas!

I'm so excited that I can hardly stand it! Hubby surprised me by playing Santa this Christmas and presented me and himself each with a certificate for New Balance hiking boots! YAY!!!!!

So the day after Christmas (Boxing Day) we went out and purchased our new boots. We have happy feet right now! I can't say enough good things these New Balance boots/shoes. The fit and comfort is amazing (no, I'm not getting paid for the endorsement).

Now, you may ask, "Why are you so excited about hiking shoes????"

To answer that question, I will quote the certificate I received:
"This certificate is good for 1 (one) pair of comfortable
hiking shoes to be purchased after Christmas. Why? To get in condition for our
hikes in 2008."
We're going to be doing a lot of outdoor walks and hikes over the next 7-8 months to train for a hike that we want to do at Lassen Volcanic National Park next summer. I'm so happy! You have NO idea! Not only will I get to go hiking with my camera in tow, but I will be accompanied by my best friend and the love of my life. It is a Christmas dream come true.

Lucky you. I have never been a hiker, but I think I could really get into it. Those shoes look very durable and comfy. Happy New Year!

So are you conditioning to hike the Peak? I've hiked it twice, once when I was five and again in 1991. I know you will enjoy ALL of your hikes, not just the ones in Lassen. Love you, Your favorite Auntie

Oh yes! I'm so Jealous of your hiking boots! We love to walk and have hiked a lot in the past (in Oregon). It's time to invest in new boots and start hiking again. Do post about the Lassen Hike!
I loved your post about Skate. What a darling kitten.

Good one Brent! I wish I was more of a hiker. My boys would really like it, I'm sure. I walk around the nature center with them, but that's about it.

I can't wait to hear about your hikes.

What great gifts! Are those Merrell hiking boots? I have some although I don't hike as such (just walking is posing challenges in recent months!) but I have used them in working around the yard too. Glad you had a wonderful Christmas and I'm looking forward to your hikes too!
